Best & worst Super Bowl ads?
Some people watch the game just to see the ads, which are some of the most expensive and most elaborate of the entire year. No matter what is happening to TV usage, the Super Bowl is still an effective way to reach lots of consumers in a short time.
And these consumers are valuable since they happily sit through the commercials (instead of using it as a bathroom break) and even enjoy talking about their favorites the next day around the water cooler.
So please chime in--What were your favorites in the following categories?
- Funniest (you laughed out loud, even if you didn't know why you laughed)
- Biggest flop (confusing, tasteless, off-brand, etc.)
- Most effective (you are seriously considering buying it now)
In case you want to see them again, check out the USA Today Ad Meter which has clips and rankings of 55 commercials. (Might take a second or two to load. I think everyone is on this site today)
So far the water cooler talk has been around the Bud Light spots, the NFL story of the oboe player, and even the etrade talking baby one...

i found the bulk of the ads to be boring and predictable...as usual. these are ads designed for dimmest bulbs in our society.
i've written a lengthy post on this very topic if you care to read it:
